Six Hills is genuinely unique
in the area.
Since we were established in 2019, Six Hills has enjoyed a reputation for brewing a wide range of quality beers to satisfy all tastes…and serving them in a friendly, welcoming environment.
New owners.
We (that’s Adam & Steve) took ownership of the brewery and taproom – previously known as
The Broken Seal – just before Christmas 2025.
It’s a cliché, but we really are old friends (having met at university) fulfilling a life-long dream! Previous owner and master brewer, Paul, has stuck around to help show us the ropes and - crucially - ensure that the quality of the brews remain as good as they always were.
New Ideas.
Whilst remaining true to the values of the existing business, we’re gradually making changes. The core offering of 14 quality craft beers (keg and cask) on tap will always remain the cornerstone of our offering, but we’ve also recently sourced a small range of fine wines and some local, Hertfordshire-distilled rums, vodkas and gins to cater for customers looking for something a little different.
In addition, we have recently launched some fantastic local artisan food options - see below for more details.
Furthermore, we are planning a complete refurbishment of the premises to increase our seating options and to make the taproom as convivial and comfortable as possible. This will take a little more time, so please bear with us…but do pop by to see how things are progressing!
Part of the Community.
A desire to be a central part of the local community has always been key to the Six Hills ethos, and we already host events for some local community groups (including backgammon nights, as pictured, quiz nights, creative writing clubs and more).
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’d like to discuss ways in which your group or club might collaborate with us; whether it’s using our taproom or brewery as a venue for meet-ups, or collaborations with your own events.
Local food options
We’ve been on a tasting tour of some fantastic local craft suppliers, in order that we can offer our customers some simple accompaniments to their beer.
For the time being, we are only offering food at weekends, but we
are going to be experimenting with our menu and are always keen to
try new things, so be sure to watch this space!
Trade & Direct Sales.
We can and do offer canned beers to customers (we are even able to can individually to order, right behind the bar) and supply kegs/casks to the trade, but whilst this website is still under development we’re not yet set up for online sales at scale. If you would like to discuss a purchase or receive a quote, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
